So… what’s it for?

The polite version

Everybody has a bottom. Most of them could use a little care.

Posterity Bottom Balm is a soft, soothing balm for the skin around your backside, the most overworked and least appreciated part of the body. It has clocked in every single day of your life without a vacation, and it doesn’t get any younger, either. Use it whenever things feel dry, tender or irritated back there.

Why it matters more as the birthdays add up

Skin naturally gets thinner and drier with age, and the skin back there is no exception. Things that never used to bother you, like a little extra wiping, a long drive or a warm afternoon, can suddenly leave you feeling sore and tender.

Nobody talks about it, but almost everybody over 50 knows exactly what we mean. A little balm, used regularly, keeps that skin soft, supple and comfortable, so you can get back to not thinking about it at all.

You take care of your knees, your heart and your teeth. Your bottom has earned a little TLC too.

When to reach for it

After a lot of wiping

When the toilet paper has done its job a few too many times and things feel raw and tender.

After a long day of sitting

Desk jobs, long drives, flights and road trips. Hours in a chair are hard on delicate skin.

When things rub the wrong way

Chafing from walking, biking, hiking or summer heat, wherever skin meets skin.

As everyday comfort

A thin layer after your shower keeps skin soft and comfortable. No occasion needed.

How to use it

  1. 1Clean the area gently and pat dry.
  2. 2Squeeze out a pea-sized amount and apply to the outside skin.
  3. 3Wash your hands. That’s it.

Fair questions

Will it sting?

It shouldn’t. There’s no fragrance, no essential oils, no menthol and no alcohol, which are the usual culprits. Most people feel a soft, smooth layer and nothing else.

Is it a medicine?

No. It’s a gentle skin balm, not a treatment for any medical condition. If you have bleeding, pain that won’t quit, or a rash that keeps coming back, please see your doctor.

Is it for babies?

It’s made for grown-ups. For little ones, ask your pediatrician what they recommend.

What if my skin is sensitive?

Try a small dab on your inner arm first. If you’re sensitive to any ingredient listed above, skip it. Stop using it if you notice redness, itching or burning.

How is it packaged?

In a 1 oz squeeze tube with a flip cap. One hand, no dipping fingers into a jar, and it lives happily right next to the toilet.
